Waste not, want not: children's clothing tutorials

One of the most intriguing things I found in recent weeks were tutorials for making children's clothes out of repurposed sweaters and tees etc.  Soule Mama got me thinking with her baby hats. Then came the woolies.  But I was really hooked with the cotton knit pants. Basically those were made by tracing a leg pattern from any elastic waist pants that currently fit your child. I made oodles of those when the older guys were little.  EASY peasy. Now I am thinking of making a narrow legged version for Tess to wear as leggings.  Little girls can be so hard on tights.  We rarely get more than a couple wears out of them. I am all about free.

I have been making woolies-the ones I make from recycled sweaters is a different style that would work really well as leggins since they fit through the bum like a diaper cover. email me and I will give you detailed instructions-they are just as easy but more of a legging-I love recycled woolens.

I was curious how they the leggings were turning out? This is a very good idea, I have been collecting t-shirts like crazy so we can set down this week and make our Baby J some pants. I think I would like to try the leggings too for my 2 yr old daughter. The idea of homemade woolens in the comment above would be great to try also.
