It shouldn't surprise me how things tend to come together but it always does. Brendan and I read about St Therese's presents to Jesus' yesterday in the Treasure Box. Then realized we had a slew of pony beads and fine twine which was the wrong size for the knot rosaries. We made some sacrifice beads for him and for Kieran who just delighted in showing me he had already given God two presents today, which of course are gifts for Mama too let me tell you!
Moira took our project a step further and finished an entire rosary before the afternoon was out. We are tweaking the system for Aidan to finish his today. These are going much quicker than the knots which have been a little tricky for the kids to master.
These look really neat. How young is the little boy with the sacrifice beads. My oldest is 3, can she try it?

Love those! Herein lies the problem I have with de-cluttering. What appears to be clutter (to me) one day, ends up being an essential part of a project another day! Sometimes I want to rid my shelves of all of the craft supplies I have accumulated.

I remember reading the very same story in the Treasure Box. Thanks for the reminder; it can't hurt to read it again. =] My kids are always begging to make some rosaries, so perhaps we can try these too. Thx.

I find that style of bead is also perfect for the Christmas novena that starts on the feast of St Andrew and finshes on Christmas Eve..saying the prayer 14 times a day you can get lost with it, but to pull a bead over is just perfect.
A very good job done there!
